Mentoring

ENTRUST Mentoring Program Introduction

The mission of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is to prepare servants to walk with Christ, proclaim His truth, and fulfill His mission. Our target as a Seminary is healthy churches. We measure the effectiveness of our Seminary by the health of the churches that our graduates lead.

The Mentoring Program is designed to keep our mission ever before us and to assist us in reaching our target. The Mentoring Program assists in this by having four goals:

1. To continue to provide the best in theological education while partnering with the local church
and para-church organizations.

2. To include the church in the equipping of the called.

3. To prepare academically trained students on what to expect in the “real world” of ministry.

4. To develop rich relationships between New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and partnering
churches and para-church organizations.

Biblical Foundation

2 Timothy 2:2 says, “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” The Entrust Mentoring Program partners with a community of church and para-church organizations to see this biblical principle lived out in the world today.

Mentoring Program Participation

Partnering churches and para-church organizations provide mentoring and field supervision to students. NOBTS provides theological education towards the student’s degree. Any student from any degree program is welcome to take a course that is offered in the mentoring format.
